The Web Development Team is responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining web sites and intranet-based applications that assist the directorate in meeting its strategy of providing information to the general public and corporate users.
- Provide high quality web based solutions explicitly aimed at the clients target audience, made possible by focusing on the audience's needs and creating systems that publish the content in an easy to read approach, whilst still maintaining corporate branding and identity.
- Advising clients on the best way of displaying their content to the public using solutions that will display on all systems irrespective of platform or technology limitations.
- Ensure that all web sites, and user interfaces that we create for clients within the authority, adhere to the latest web and interface guidelines; including W3C, WAI, WCAG and SOCITM. As a government department we comply with World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative level "A" recommendations.
