The Server Team supports approximately 200 servers located at sites across the borough. These sites include Port Talbot Civic Centre, Aberafan House, Baglan IT Centre, Schools, Libraries and LAC's.
These servers run Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000 & Windows 2003) and have various applications installed on them which we support as part of the infrastructure. These include:
- Exchange 2003
- ISA server 2000
- Websense
- Netloan
- SIMS
- Symantec Anti Virus
- SQL Sever 2000
- Net Op
- Backup Exec
- EMS
We are also responsible for the curriculum network infrastructure which encompasses the backbone cabling and Core network switches.
