ECDL Success!
Since the launch of ECDL in August 2006, Baglan IT Centre has welcomed staff from across the authority to sit on-line tests using the Enlight testing system. Candidates are given access to mock/diagnostic tests prior to sitting any tests and these have proved to be extremely helpful in preparing candidates for the actual tests.

Over a three-month period we have had ten candidates achieving BCS Level 1 Certification and three candidates achieving the complete ECDL Certification.  At present, tests are organised every month and places are being snapped up well in advance.

Neath Port Talbot Council wants to encourage its staff to improve their ICT skills and so candidates are able to study the ECDL course either using the Advance Learning online classroom or CD-ROM for up to one hour a week in working time as well as at home.

In addition, a new SuperHelp online support system is about to be launched on the Council’s intranet that will bring a much needed simple and user-friendly help system to everyone, not only ECDL candidates.

The training team here at Baglan IT Centre are also re-designing all Microsoft courses using approved ECDL courseware to match the ECDL syllabus 4 skill sets.
