Single School Network Project: Stage Four Update
Baglan IT Centre had planned to commence Stage Four of the Single School Network Project on 6th May 2009, migrating a further 32 Primary schools and the remainder of the Secondary schools to the Single School Network by the end of the Summer term.
A number of enhancements have been requested by the pilot schools to bring significant improvements to the functionality of the Managed Service which we need time to further develop. Additionally, outside of this project some schools have been experiencing performance issues with files and applications running slowly. BITC has decided to re-allocate resources to resolve this issue without delay.
Therefore, the project team has decided to delay the start of the full migration to the 1st June 2009. We are still aiming to migrate a number of the Secondary schools along with a small number of Primary schools by the end of the Summer term, the remaining schools will be migrated in the Autumn term.
We will be in touch in due course with your implementation dates.
